# Salesforce

The Salesforce connector lets the agent query your org's data using SOQL and SOSL — surfacing deals, accounts, contacts, and any custom objects without leaving Slack.

## What It Enables

| Tool              | Capability | Description                                                              |

| `search_records`  | `read`     | Run a SOSL full-text search across multiple objects at once              |
| `get_record`      | `read`     | Fetch a single record by its Salesforce ID                               |
| `describe_object` | `read`     | Get an object's field schema including custom fields and picklist values |
| `list_recent`     | `read`     | List recently viewed records for the run-as user                         |

All tools are read-only. No DML (create/update/delete) is exposed over this connector.

## Setup

**Required:** Salesforce Connected App with the Client Credentials Flow enabled. You'll need the **Consumer Secret** (stored as the credential), the **Consumer Key**, and your org's **My Domain URL**.

**Where to find it:**

* In Salesforce, go to **Setup → App Manager → New Connected App**.
* Enable OAuth, tick **Enable Client Credentials Flow**, and assign a run-as user.
* The Consumer Key and Secret appear under **Manage Consumer Details**.

1. In the Notara dashboard, go to **Tools**.
2. Click the **Salesforce** tile.
3. Enter your **My Domain URL** (e.g. `https://acme.my.salesforce.com`), **Consumer Key**, and **Consumer Secret**.
4. Click **Verify & Save**.

Your Consumer Secret is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.
