# Mercury

Read-only access to Mercury bank accounts, balances, and transaction history.

## What It Enables

| Tool | Capability | Description |
| ------------------- | ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `list_accounts` | `read` | List all Mercury accounts with current and available balances |
| `get_account` | `read` | Get one account by ID with full metadata |
| `list_transactions` | `read` | List transactions on an account, filterable by date range, status, or counterparty |
| `get_transaction` | `read` | Get a single transaction in full, including routing, attachments, and failure reason |
| `list_recipients` | `read` | List saved payment recipients |

This connector is permanently read-only. Mercury's API supports sending money and creating recipients — none of that is exposed here and should never be added.

## Setup

**Required:** Mercury read-only API token.

**Where to find it:** Mercury dashboard → **Settings → API Tokens**. Generate a token with read-only scope.

1. In the Notara dashboard, go to **Tools**.
2. Click the **Mercury** tile.
3. In Mercury, go to **Settings → API Tokens** and create a new read-only token.
4. Paste the token into the credential field and click **Verify & Save**.

Your API token is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.

## Example Prompts

> "What's our current balance across all Mercury accounts?"

> "Show me all transactions over $5,000 from last month."

> "Who is the counterparty on transaction ID abc123?"
